New Album Progress or: Is That a Light at the End of the Tunnel?

Robert brings the awesome. 2.24.2011

Greetings.

Currently I’m seated next to producer extraordinaire Kyle Ferguson in the friendly confines of Dressing Room 4. Tonight, we’re working on electric guitar parts. Robert is streaming a healthy dose of electric sex from his fingertips to the speakers before us, and tonight he’s brought the goods. Five songs remain to be tracked, and it’s finally starting to feel like it’s really going to happen. I realize this may sound strange, but Andrew and I shared a moment earlier in which we both caught ourselves reflecting on how long we’ve been at this project. Of course, that’s not restricted only to the last 3 months in which we’ve been diligently writing, arranging, and tracking this group of tunes. A full-length album has been a goal of this band’s for far longer, and to witness the pieces finally come together is nothing short of “incredible,” or “utterly superb” to quote Andrew.

We originally hoped to include 12 songs on the record, and with the addition of these final 5 to our first batch of 8, things are shaping up such that we’ll do one better–a lucky 13, if you will. Now, if only we could finally come up with a name for this thing, we’d be all set.

There’s been no shortage of late nights thus far, and I suspect several remain. In fact, we’re rolling past the 2:00 hour this morning as I type, but it’s a small price to pay. With each session a new piece is added to the puzzle, and the songs begin to come to life, and our spirits reignite. Rinse and repeat.

It won’t be long now! Keep on the look out for more updates and hell, maybe even a release date.

As always, thanks for reading.
