When we were putting the finishing touches on the new record late last fall, I began thinking about the people with whom I wanted to share it first. Of course, family and my closest friends were a given. They’ve been the largest supporters since the very beginning. But after 5 years, we’ve been lucky enough to develop relationships with people in and around the local music scene. People who’ve had their finger on the pulse of Indy’s music long before Borrow Tomorrow tried to find its place in it, and whose opinions I respect very much.
Darrin of Indy-In-Tune falls squarely into this category, and as someone who has inexplicably shown us a tremendous amount of respect and offered a great deal of support, he was one of the first discs I mailed; a burned, Sharpie-scribbled copy no less.
Needless to say it was a no-brainer when Darrin invited us to appear again on his podcast program (or did we invite ourselves?). Darrin, Andrew, Robert, and I talk about the new songs, the inspiration behind them, the recording process, Shawn, Randall, and where we go from here, with plenty of smart-ass comments in between.
Indy-In-Tune has recorded over 100 episodes each featuring local bands and artists like us. If you dig it, check out some of the others.
