Winter 2014 Update – Studio & Shows

The season has turned, the holidays are upon us, and as this time of year warrants some reflection, there is a lot for us to be thankful for. If you’re reading this post, then hats off to you–you’re at the top of the list, because you’re likely one of the countless friends, family members, or fans that has supported us over the years.

We should also pause to think about how lucky we are that we’re still at this racket after all this time. Real life has a way of forcing you to re-prioritize often, and those old dreams from one’s youth so often end up on the cutting room floor. We’re thankful to still have the pleasure of making music together and for those people around us that allow it to happen.

But enough with the sappy stuff, let’s get on to what we’ve been up to.

Back in the Studio

Recording 11.2014Over the past few months, Andrew, Robert, Shawn, and I have been slowly but steadily working on a new batch of original songs. We’re excited to again enlist the services of our good friend Kyle Ferguson to help us set up shop and being recording. Kyle produced our last record, and evidently he just couldn’t get enough the first time around, so he’s back for more (I mean, who could turn down our bribes of leftover Halloween candy and late-night couch spooning? He’d be crazy to say no.)

No decisions have been made yet in terms of a release date or schedule, but keep an eye out for sneak-peaks and other announcements in the coming weeks as the tunes begin to take shape.

Upcoming Shows with Sister Hazel

Indianapolis and Chicago fans can catch us live this week at the Vogue in Indianapolis and House of Blues in Chicago in support of Sister Hazel. We’ll be playing a stripped-down acoustic set to open the evening. It will be a fun departure from the typical Boto show, so if you’ve seen us before, I think you’ll enjoy the chance to hear us put a different spin on tunes you know and love. Hell, maybe you’ll even like it better and we kick Andrew out of the band for good. Win-win! (We kid because we love, and because we know Andrew wouldn’t go quietly.)
